I tried it out but like everything else it still made no difference and I couldn’t get X started with nomodeset. Unfortunately I’m not getting anywhere and I suspect there’s a more fundamental problem at play here And if you do want to run X, and if screen flicker is an issue, did you try the vesa or fbdev graphic drivers?
